Claims FAQs
Early notification helps us manage claims efficiently and can often reduce delays in resolving the matter. Each claim will be assessed on its own merits and in accordance with the policy terms and conditions.
Typically, we would offer settlement to the business owner if they paid for the invoice directly, or if they reimbursed the customer (with evidence of the reimbursement amount transferred).
If the dog owner themselves pay for the bill, can they be reimbursed directly by you or does this need to come via the pet business owner? If coverage is granted, we can offer the settlement amount to the dog owner or the business owner depending on who paid expenses.
Excess is deducted off settlement when settlements are made to the business owner. If the dog owner was to be paid directly, we would await excess payment from the business owner before paying the dog owner.
Within 1 week if all required information is provided to assess the claim and coverage can be determined. This can extend to 2-3 weeks if we are waiting for information from the business owner and will only ever be longer if we are waiting for information and there is no response from the other party, or the matter is complex.
